    top level; West Cameroon was divided again in 2 subpools, the Coastal or South Pool 
    and the Grassland or North Pool

Champions: Caïman (Douala)

NB: after this season, the Western league was made a second level feeder league, with
    two of its clubs (PWD Bamenda and Prisons (Buea) gaining access to the national league
    (which otherwise consisted of clubs from East Cameroon) [another source states this
    happened in 1972 only]
