[*] K.S.L.I. were the 2nd Battalion King's Shropshire Light Infantry, who had been
    stationed on Bermuda until June 1940, winning a number of local cup tournaments
    (Governor's Cup 1940, B.F.A. Cup 1939 and B.F.A. Trophy 1939 and 1940) and a
    "Military League" 1939/40 before being transferred to Curaçao to guard the oil
    refineries (following the German invasion of the Netherlands in May); they were
    moved back to the United Kingdom in February 1942, when they had only one match
    (against S.U.B.T.) left to play, having played their last league match, a 2-0
    win over Jong Curaçao,  on January 4
