Niger 2005/06

Championnat national de première division
=========================================

First Stage
-----------

NB: 14 teams, 2 groups (7 in each group)

Group A
3 teams from Agadez, 3 teams from Niamey and one from Tahoua.

Group B
4 teams from Niamey, one from Tahoua, one from Zinder and one from Maradi.

Round 1 [Dec 18]

Round 7 [Jan 30]

Round 8 [Feb 4]

JS Ténéré (JST) won their matches against AS Police, Espoir FC
de Zinder, Jangorzo de Maradi and Zumunta de Niamey, but had all
awarded against them for unclear reasons (they have taken their
protest to FIFA) and were relegated along with Alkali Nassara Club de
Zinder (ANC), who have also protested their treatment by the league,
citing a match in the 16th round against Entente FC.

Apart from JST and ANC, also Jangorzo and Olympic FC de Niamey have
complained about 'discrimination'; apparently a struggle around
the presidency of FENIFOOT, in which those 4 clubs supported the
losing candidate, is behind the conflict.
