Women's World Cup

After several unofficial tournaments, such as the Coppa del Mondo 1970 (Italy), the Mundial 1971 (Mexico), the series of Women's Mundialito's 1982-1988 (Italy), the Women's World Invitation Tournament 1987 (Taiwan) and finally FIFA's Women's Invitation Tournament 1988 (China), FIFA started a World Cup tournament for women in 1991.

Years link to the individual tournaments. Some general remarks on the data formats used there:

46+ indicates goal in stoppage time first half (46: goal in second half)
93+ indicates goal in stoppage time first half (93: goal in extra time)
23og indicates own goal
13pen indicates converted penalty

Names of Chinese (and Taiwan) and (North) Korean players are given with
surnames first; names of Japanese players with surnames last; for Brazilian
players, if they only use first name or nickname, only this is given; if
both first name and surname appear on the roster, but only first name on
the uniform, the surname is given in brackets.
