The second team from Upper Austria, LASK, had to contest a playoff
against the winners of the Regionalliga Mitte (Kapfenberger SV), 
Ost (ASV Stockerau) and West (FC Dornbirn).

The seven teams who failed to qualify for the Zehnerliga joined the
3 winners of the Regionalliga as well as Wolfsberger AC (2nd in RL Mitte),
Rapid Lienz (3rd in RL Mitte, after playoff, see below), 1. Wiener 
Neustädter SC (2nd in RL Ost) and SK Bischofshofen (2nd in RL West) 
in the new national second level.
