France - List of League Cup Finals


There have been various competitions in France that can be compared with the English and Scottish League Cups, under various names and not related to each other.


Coupe Charles Drago 1953-1965

A competition for national league teams called "Coupe Charles Drago"
(Challenge du Groupement) was held for about a decade in the fifties and 
sixties.  It involved teams eliminated before the quarterfinals of the
French Cup.

Coupe de la Ligue 1963-1965

In 1963/64 and 1964/65, a competition called 'Coupe de Ligue' was played
on two occasions.

Coupe d'Eté/Coupe de la Ligue 1982-1994

In the summer of 1982 a "Summer Cup" (Coupe d'Eté) was played;
from 1984 to 1994 five more such competitions were played under the
name of "League Cup" (Coupe de la Ligue), always in the summer before
the start of the official season.  In 1991 entrance was restricted to
clubs from the second division.  For details see the links clickable
